About Us

As Above, So Below

“Work of the Sun” was the term used by medieval alchemists for the Magnum Opus, the Great Work, the commitment to making one’s life and person an ongoing operation dedicated to perfecting the soul.

Work of the Sun welcomes projects that bring wisdom, insight and forgotten knowledge to the contemporary mind through the lenses of psychology, science, poetry and the arts. Current projects include a centennial edition of TITANIC: DISASTER OF A CENTURY and a kabbalistic herbal, THE FIRE IN THE FENNEL STALK: Herbal Tales of Mind and Consciousness [working title] (C)].

The inspiration for Work of the Sun’s logo is Yggdrasil, the World Tree of  Norse legend representing the union of the soul with God.

The philosophy of all work produced in the name of Work of the Sun is best expressed by William Blake’s poem “Auguries of Innocence” or, in the medieval alchemists’ shorthand,

“As Above, So Below”
